Who is to Blame for the Crisis in Catalonia?

While we have all read competing claims in the media in recent weeks, rarely do we get to hear from academic experts on Catalan politics. The Centre for the Study of Democratic Citizenship and the Jean Monnet Centre have invited three scholars with in-depth knowledge on Catalonia to share their points of view on the crisis. They will discuss recent Catalan political history as well as public opinion. The panelists are also going to use their in-depth knowledge of Catalan politics to suggest ways to solve the crisis. Come join us for this unique opportunity to learn about what's going on in Catalonia.

This round table discussion on the ongoing crisis in Catalonia will be moderated by Juliet Johnson from McGill University and will feature the three following panelists:

  • Eric Guntermann – Postdoctoral researcher at the Research Chair in Electoral Studies at Université de Montréal
  • Carolina de Miguel Moyer – Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Toronto)
  • Ismael Vaccaro – Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology and the McGill School of Environment
