Catalyzing sustainable business across campus

Published: 5 April 2019

Congratulations to the student-led Desautels Sustainability Network (DSN) who received a Catalyst Award from the McGill Office of Sustainability this week under the category of Sustainability in Connectivity & Governance!

The DSN seeks to promote sustainability as a profitable opportunity for businesses. Through various events, they aim to break silos between Faculties, connecting Montreal’s professional community with students in the BCom program and beyond.

Throughout the year, DSN brought together over 1000 students, 50 industry leaders, and 30 student organizations from McGill and other Montreal universities, helping to establish a citywide network of students, faculty and community members interested in sustainable business practices.

In 2018, the DSN was also proud to relaunch the Desautels Business Conference on Sustainability after a two-year hiatus. Created in 2003, DBCS is Montreal’s largest student-led conference on the impacts of sustainability within the private sector.
