ChemPhoto: McGill Department of Chemistry Photo Exhibition

The McGill Chemistry Outreach is proud to launch the first “ChemPhoto”, a photo exhibition of chemistry to coincide with Nuit Blanche on March 3 2018. The chemistry-themed photo exhibition is open to students and staff in the Department of Chemistry at McGill University. The purpose of the exhibition is to showcase the beauty of science and to foster interest in chemistry to the general public.


Who can participate: undergraduate students, graduate students, postdocs and staff in the McGill Department of Chemistry.

Rules:
Each participant can only submit one digital copy of their photo which is related to chemistry. The content should be easily understood for the general public.

How to participate:
The deadline of submission is February 26th 2018. Please request and fill the participation form and the media consent form at outreach.chemistry [at] mcgill.ca along with your photo in jpg format with resolution no lower than 300 dpi.

The Outreach Group will screen the submissions suitable to be exposed in the lobby of Otto Mass during Nuit Blanche on Saturday March 3 2018. At this time, winners will be selected by a public vote.

Exhibition time:
March 2nd to 3rd, Otto Maass Building Lobby

Voting Time:
6 pm – 12 am, March 3rd (at the same time as McGill Chemistry Outreach Nuit Blanche presentations), open to general public. Only one vote per person.

Prizes:
1st place: $50
2nd place: $25
3rd place: $10
