CONGRATULATIONS DESAUTELS CLASS OF 2009!

Published: 27 May 2009

Despite the rain, 429 Bachelor of Commerce, 118 Masters and 10 PhD graduates from the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill had reason to celebrate. Under the big white tent, filled to capacity, many doting friends and family members watched as their beloved was conferred a degree from McGill University. The legendary business strategist Dr. Michael Porter received an honorary doctorate degree and challenged the graduating class to pursue environmental and socially responsible initiatives. Dr. Saibal Ray and Dr. Peter Christoffersen each received a Distinguished Teaching Award. During an emotional moment, the first degree was presented to Liana Tassone on behalf of her brother, the late Adriano Tassone, a BCom student who died in a tragic accident in March. Upon conferral of all degrees, students, friends and family celebrated at a small reception on campus.

New graduates are encouraged to stay in touch through McGill's Alumnilife as well as the Desautels BCom and MBA LinkedIN groups and Twitter
