Professor Emmanuelle Vaast named Associate Dean of Research

As Professor Vihang Errunza steps down from his role as Associate Dean of Research at the Desautels Faculty of Management, Professor Emmanuelle Vaast is gearing up to take the reins.

Professor Vihang Errunza is set to resume his academic duties before beginning a well-earned sabbatical later this year. Under Professor Errunza’s leadership, the Faculty has developed a strong relationship with the VP-RI Office that led to facilitating greater cross-disciplinary research opportunities, and an increasing share in national awards competitions.

With important contributions from Professor Robert David and the Research Office, Professor Errunza helped build a strong support system for our researchers and notable success with grant applications. In cooperation with Professor Samer Faraj, he was instrumental in improving the quality of our PhD program and its further development. With help from Vice-Dean Morty Yalovsky, he also implemented a process to regularly recognize scholarly excellence through research awards.

Professor Vaast joined Desautels in 2011 as Associate Professor of Information Systems, and in 2018, was promoted to Full Professor. She is a Past Division Chair of Organizational Communication and Information Systems of the Academy of Management. She currently serves as Senior Editor at Information Systems Research. Emma holds a PhD in Management Sciences from École Polytechnique in France.

Professor Vaast will move into her new position on June 1, 2020.
