Professor Jeanne Paquette appointed as McGill Deputy Research Integrity Officer

Professor Jeanne Paquette has been appointed as a McGill Deputy Research Integrity Officer. She began the three-year, part-time appointment on June 15, 2022. As Deputy RIO, Professor Paquette promotes integrity in the conduct of research and carries out the assessment of research misconduct allegations. She works closely with the Research Integrity Officer (RIO), Professor Christina Wolfson, to foster an environment that promotes the ethical and responsible conduct of research.

Professor Paquette is an Associate Professor of Mineralogy at the Department of Earth & Planetary Sciences in the Faculty of Science, and an Associate Member of the Redpath Museum. Professor Paquette teaches undergraduate and graduate students in geology, environmental sciences and mining engineering programs. In 2021, she received the Rick Hutson Mentorship Award from Women In Mining Canada for her mentorship, support, and encouragement of women in the Canadian mining industry.

McGill thanks Professor Marc Pell who filled the role of Deputy RIO prior to Professor Paquette. He is a James McGill Professor in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
