Professor Vihang Errunza named a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada

The Desautels Faculty of Management is pleased to congratulate Professor Vihang Errunza, Associate Dean, Research, on being named a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada’s Social Sciences Academy.

This honour is conferred upon Professor Errunza for his work as a finance scholar, and recognizes the effects his work has had on global welfare. He will be inducted into the RSC academies along with eight other McGill professors at the Fairmont Winnipeg Hotel during the Annual General Meeting’s Induction and Awards Ceremonies on Friday, November 24.

Professor Errunza is a world-renowned finance scholar with a brilliant track record in both theoretical and empirical work. His research has influenced generations of thinkers, and improved our understanding of the behaviour of international financial markets.

His work has led to development of funds that have facilitated cross-border portfolio flows providing risk capital to developing economies and improved performance to investors leading to the enhancement of global welfare. Professor Errunza is widely considered the father of emerging markets research in finance.
