RESOLVED: Issues with print holdings in the McGill WorldCat catalogue

Published: 6 September 2017

Update, September 18: The issues with the display of print holdings in WorldCat have now been resolved.

Update, September 15, 3pm: We have seen a marked improvement in the display of print holdings in the McGill WorldCat catalogue, though there may still be intermittent problems. We are still working to resolve the issues completely. Please continue to check the Classic Catalogue if McGill information does not load properly in WorldCat. Thanks again for your patience.

Update, September 8, 3pm: We continue to experience issues with the McGill WorldCat catalogue. We are working to resolve the problem as soon as possible. Please check the Classic Catalogue to confirm information for physical items. Thank you for your patience.

We are currently experiencing issues with the display of holdings and loan information for non-electronic items (print books, DVDs, CDs, etc.) in the McGill WorldCat catalogue. Please check the Classic Catalogue to confirm the location, call number and availability information for physical items.

Library staff and McGill IT are working to fix technical issues that cause call numbers, locations and loan information to display inconsistently for non-electronic resources. The full record displays the message, “We were unable to get availability information for this item. Please check at the circulation desk for assistance.” In the meantime, if these messages are encountered in WorldCat, up-to-date information for physical items may be found in the Classic Catalogue.

We apologize for any inconvenience while we work to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
