Faculty of Education alumna Samantha Rapoport (B.Ed. (Kinesiology) 2004), is "on a mission to break barriers," reported Chris O'Leary, senior writer at the CFL, in an article published earlier this week. Today, The Globe and Mail published a similar article, written by correspondent Rachel Brady, titled "Samantha Rapoport, a Canadian, tackles the NFL’s gender imbalance".
Rapoport is the Director of Football Development with the National Football League (NFL). In an interview with O'Leary she tells the story of her struggles and successes playing football and pursuing a career in the male-dominated field of football.
