The School of Urban Planning will host Adam Greenfield for a public lecture "Another city is possible: Practices of the minimum viable utopia" on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 5pm. The lecture follows the interdisciplinary workshop the same day on "Future Cities", by Institute for the Public Life of Arts and Ideas (IPLAI) on crossing boundaries into other ways of seeing the city and its future.

 

About the speaker: Adam Greenfield

Adam Greenfield is a Senior Urban Fellow at LSE Cities, and international research centre at the London School of Economics. He is the founder and Director of Urbanscale, a design consulting firm with expertise in the relationship between information technology and the urban experience. He is the author of serveral books, including Author of Everyware: The Dawning Age of Ubiquitous Computing (2006), Urban Computing and its Discontents (2007, with Mark Shepard), and Against the Smart City (2013).
