Desautels Faculty of Management

1001 Sherbrooke Street West, 3rd floor lounge

The Desautels Faculty of Management presents an exclusive opportunity to meet management education leader, Professor Henry Mintzberg launching his latest book entitled, Managing.

Heavy-weight management guru, Mintzberg, joined the Faculty in 1968, and is among the most distinguished contemporary management authors, recognized for his expertise, innovation and dynamism worldwide.

Mintzberg was the first Fellow to be elected to the Royal Society of Canada from the field of Management and has received many awards and honors for his work in Canada and abroad. He is Cleghorn Professor of Management Studies at McGill University and a founding partner of CoachingOurselves.com. Recently ranked #9 in the Wall Street Journal's Top 20 Business Thinkers, he is the author of fifteen books, including The Rise and Fall of Strategic Planning and Managers Not MBAs.

His latest book, Managing, features a bold new view of the practice of effective management based on his observation of twenty-nine managers in a variety of organizations, industries and countries. "We should be seeing managers as leaders," he writes, "and leadership as management practiced well." This book is vintage Mintzberg: iconoclastic, irreverent, carefully researched, myth-busting. Management can make or break an organization-this is the most authoritative and revealing book yet written about what managers do, how they do it, and how they can have the greatest impact.

Books will be sold onsite.
