CECR - A celebration of progress with the Honourable Tony Clement, Minister of Industry

In 2007, the Montreal Neurological Institute of McGill University was named one of seven Centres of Excellence in Commercialization and Research (CECR) in recognition of our 75 year history of accomplishment in innovative neuroscience research.  Our goal in accepting this honour was to establish the best CECR program in the country.  Under the auspices of the CECR Award, we have expanded our most innovative and high risk fundamental science exploration, as well as focused on programs that commercialize basic research discoveries and move treatments from the bench into the clinic.  Our CECR funding has led to the development of novel devices and diagnostics certain to benefit the health of all Canadians.
