Energy efficiency and forest biorefinery-Register today!

Overview

For the pulp and paper industry, biorefining is not only a high value-added activity, but also an opportunity to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHGs) emissions. Reduction potential comes in part from innovations in energy efficiency, but also from a different use of resources. Speakers will discuss energy efficiency research and new process integration in the Canadian pulp and paper industry, and the transformation that this industry has undergone in Sweden.

Speakers

  • Jean Paris, Co-director of the Research Unit on Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development of the Forest Biorefinery (E2D2BF) at Polytechnique Montréal

  • Enrique Mateos-Espejel, Researcher at FPInnovations, specializing in forest biorefinery process integration

  • Peter Axegård, Vice-President Innventia AB, a Swedish specialist of biorefining and the pulp & paper industry
