About the speakers

Kenji Yoshino

Kenji Yoshino is Professor of Law at Yale Law School. His subjects are constitutional law, anti-discrimination law, law and literature, and Japanese law and society. His published works include the recent book, Covering: The Hidden Assault on Our Human Rights. Forthcoming is Shakespeare and the Law.

Kendall Thomas

Nash Professor of Law and co-founder and Director of the Center for the Study of Law and Culture at Columbia University in the City of New York, Professor Kendall Thomas joined the Columbia Law School in 1984. His teaching and research interests include U.S. and comparative constitutional law, human rights, legal philosophy, feminist legal theory, critical race theory, and law and sexuality.

Jenni Millbank

Professor Jenni Millbank joined the University of Technology, Sydney (Australia), in April 2007. Her areas of expertise are the legal regulation of diverse family forms, refugee law and consumer law. Jenni is Australia's leading expert on same-sex relationship recognition and she has been extensively involved in research and scholarship, law reform, litigation, community consultation and activism in this area for over a decade.
