3661 Peel, Rm 106, 3661 Peel, Rm 106, SIS Building, CA

The seminar provides an overview of research conducted during the past 21 years over six projects funded by SSHRC and one funded by Heritage Canada, all in some way related to interactions between children and information technology. It will include discussion of topics such as information retrieval, interface design, usability, virtual environments, user-centered design and visualization.

Andrew Large is CN-Pratt-Grinstad Professor of Information Studies in the School of Information Studies, and Associate Dean, Research and Graduate Students, in the Faculty of Education. Since coming to McGill in 1989 much of his research and writing has focused upon how elementary school children use information technology and how the latter might be designed better to accommodate their needs.
