A presentation by Dr. Eric Galbraith (Earth and Planetary Sciences, McGill)

Students on ice

For the first time in history, McGill students participated this past February in an Antarctica field study course, led by Professor Eric Galbraith. Join Galbraith as he delivers a special presentation on the oceanographic sampling and shore-based work that formed the basis of the field trip.

Galbraith, who completed his BSc at McGill and his postdoctoral fellowship at Princeton University before returning to McGill last year, worked as a geologist in South America and the Canadian Arctic prior to becoming an oceanographer. His research looks at how global ocean circulation interacts with the  rest of the climate system, what this means for marine life, and how the ocean will respond to future climate change.

Free, everyone welcome. Seating is limited. No reservations necessary.
