Soyez des nôtres pour le lancement du livre de Shiri Pasternak, Grounded Authority: The Algonquins of Barriere Lake Against the State (2017, University of Minnesota Press). Shiri Pasternak est professeure adjointe en criminologie à l'Université Ryerson à Toronto. Nous accueillerons également un invité spécial: Monsieur Norman Matchewan, qui est conseiller de bande au Lac Barrière.

Description du livre [en anglais seulement]: From the perspective of Indigenous law and jurisdiction, Shiri Pasternak tells the story of the Algonquins of Barriere Lake, in western Quebec, and their tireless resistance to federal land claims policy. A rigorous account of the Algonquins’ incredible struggle, Grounded Authority provides a vital contribution to current debates in the study of colonialism and Indigenous peoples in North America and globally.
