11e congrès mondial de reproduction humaine du 2 au 4 juin 2002
Un congrès international sur les dernières avancées dans le traitement de l'infertilité, la contraception, la ménopause et les dysfonctions sexuelles se tiendra à Montréal, du 2 au 4 juin, à l'Hôtel Reine-Élizabeth. Il est organisé par les départements d'obstétrique et de gynécologie de l'Université McGill et de l'Université de Montréal. Le Congrès est placé sous la présidence du Dr Seang Lin Tan, directeur du département d'obstétrique et de gynécologie de l'Université McGill et chef de l'obstétrique et de la gynécologie au Centre universitaire de santé McGill (CUSM).
« Ce congrès mondial est un événement marquant dans le domaine et il se tient pour la première fois au Canada. Nous avons réuni une brochette prestigieuse de médecins et de chercheurs de renom qui exposeront les plus récentes recherches en santé de la reproduction », dit le Dr Tan.
Le programme du congrès comprend des conférences de médecins et de chercheurs de réputation internationale venus du monde entier, notamment de l'Australie, du Canada, des États-Unis, de la France, d'Israël et du Royaume-Uni. Au nombre des sujets d'intérêt :
- Le clonage reproductif
- La recherche sur les cellules souches embryonnaires humaines
- La production du bébé sur mesure
- Le déclin de la fertilité : mythe ou réalité?
- La contraception chez les femmes de plus de 40 ans
- La maturation in vitro des ovocytes pour le traitement de l'infertilité
