Carlos Iván Fuentes Alcedo wins Washington College of Law's 2006 Human Rights Award

The Faculty is proud to report that LLM student Carlos Iván Fuentes Alcedo has been awarded first place for his paper "Protegiendo el derecho a la salud en el Sistema Interamericano de Derechos Humanos: Estudio comparativo sobre su justiciabilidad desde un punto de vista sustantivo y procesal" (Protecting the right to health in the Inter-American System of Human Rights: A comparative study on justiciability from a substantive and procedural perspective).

The award consists of a scholarship that will allow him to attend the 3-week Summer Program of the Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law at the Washington College of Law.

Specializing in human rights, Mr. Fuentes Alcedo is also a legal researcher for the Special Court for Sierra Leone Legal Clinic. We offer him our congratulations.
