Hugues Barbeau awarded the Reeve-Irvine Research Medal for work on spinal cord injury

In March 2009 Dr. Hugues Barbeau was awarded the Reeve-Irvine Research Medal along with Dr. Susan Harkema for their accomplishments in the clinical translation of locomotor training using body-weight supported systems for individuals living with spinal cord injuries. The Reeve-Irvine Medal was founded by Joan Irvine Smith in honour of Christopher Reeve. The medal includes a $50,000 cash award generously contributed by Joan Irvine Smith and the Alathie R.
