Take the Survey on Student Consultation and Communication today! The survey will close on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 11:59 pm EST.

Hello,

The Student Consultation and Communication (SCC) Work Group is studying the existing channels and models of consultation and communication at various levels within McGill University.

The mandate of the committee is to broadly consider, and make recommendations about, the methods used to consult and communicate with students and consultation and communication in general.   In the spirit of the Principal’s Task Force on Student Life and Learning, the Work Group aims to address: the purpose of consultation and communication, what modes currently exist, which models work best, and how we can improve trust and transparency throughout the McGill Community.

This initial request is for written feedback to the questions regarding consultation and communication.

The survey is available online at: http://ca.studentvoice.com/mcgill/consultationandcommunicationentry

Communication is defined broadly as “relaying information to the target community,” while consultation is defined broadly as “listening to the opinions and discussing options on a particular issue with community members.”

Thank you for your collaboration,

Professor Paul Wiseman
