Marianna Newkirk Appointed CIHR Delegate

Dr. Marianna M. Newkirk, Associate Dean (Research) in the Faculty of Medicine, has been appointed McGill’s delegate to the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), as of January 2012.

Please join us in thanking Dr. David Ragsdale for serving as CIHR delegate for the past three years.

In her new role, Dr. Newkirk will keep the research community informed as CIHR contemplates potentially major changes to some of its signature programs. She is also committed to consulting with McGill researchers on critical topics related to health research funding.

 

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) is the Government of Canada's health research investment agency. CIHR's mission is to create new scientific knowledge and to enable its translation into improved health, more effective health services and products, and a strengthened Canadian health care system. Composed of 13 Institutes, CIHR provides leadership and support to more than 14,100 health researchers and trainees across Canada.
