Marie Giguère, BCL'75, receives James Robb Award

Marie Giguère, BCL’75, was honoured with the James Robb Award for her exceptional work as a volunteer at a reception held at the Dean’s home on June 22, 2008.

Marie Giguère is a member of Law’s Faculty Advisory Board and has also been a lecturer in securities law at the Faculty. She has been one of the McGill community’s most loyal volunteers.

Marie Giguère has served as a member of the Board of Governors for many years and has worked tirelessly as a volunteer for the Douglas Hospital, including as a member of its Board of Trustees. She has provided the hospital community and McGill with countless hours. Dean Kasirer made special mention of the counsel she has provided successive Deans of Law at her alma mater.

 James Robb gives Marie Giguère the prize named in his honour

McGill Vice Principal Michael Goldbloom, BCL'78, LLB'79, toasted Marie Giguère’s accomplished career at the award presentation. A highly successful corporate lawyer in Montreal, she followed a long career at Fasken Martineau Walker with stints as a senior executive at the Montreal Stock Exchange and Molson Inc.

The James Robb Award was created in 2007 by the Faculty of Law. Named for James Robb, BA’51, BCL’54, who has been one of McGill’s great volunteers for over 50 years, the award serves to honour a Law graduate who has shown exceptional generosity to the McGill community.
