Professor Nicholas Kasirer completes extraordinary deanship

Published: 2 June 2009

The Faculty of Law of McGill University wishes to announce the end of Professor Nicholas Kasirer’s outstanding Deanship.

As he finishes a successful and greatly celebrated five-year mandate – one which he had already graciously extended by seven months, but for which he declined to seek renewal – Professor Kasirer receives the Faculty's deep appreciation and gratitude. Professor Kasirer will now be taking a much-deserved leave from his administrative and teaching responsibilities.

The Faculty is pleased to announce the appointment, as of July 1st 2009, of Professor Daniel Jutras as Interim Dean.  For the month of June, Professor Shauna Van Praagh, Associate Dean (Graduate Studies), will serve the Faculty as Acting Dean.  The University’s Dean Search Committee expects to complete its work in the coming months.

As always, the Dean’s Office can be reached at dean.law [at] mcgill.ca, or 514-398-6604.
