Progress continues with AMURE

Published: 18 May 2012

The parties met on May 16 and signed off on the final English and French versions of seven articles in the Research Associates and Research Assistants collective agreements. Those articles are: purpose of the agreement, union recognition, management rights, relations between the University and the union, definition of terms, harassment, and employee files.

The agreed to and translated versions of articles pertaining to intellectual property and conduct of research, union activities, and labour relations committee were sent to the union for their review and final acceptance. Discussions initiated in the previous meeting on grievances, arbitration and disciplinary measures led to an agreement; final English and French versions will be submitted by the University at a later meeting.

The next bargaining session is scheduled for May 23.
