Request for feedback on revised SSHRC program architecture

Published: 4 March 2010

As you might know, SSHRC is in the process of renewing its program architecture to create a simpler, more flexible and effective application and assessment system.

The new program architecture hopes to reduce complexity, eliminate overlaps in program objectives, and minimize logistical barriers for applicants. It will support research activities undertaken by individuals, informal groups or teams, and by groups working in formal partnerships across institutions and sectors.

I encourage researchers to review the the draft program literature PDF located at the link below:

http://www.sshrc-crsh.gc.ca/site/whatsnew-quoi_neuf/Program_Architecture_Consultation_e.pdf

and provide their feedback directly to SSHRC.  The agency is particularly interested in:

- the extent to which you feel the program architecture meets the need for a simplified, flexible and easy-to-understand suite of programs; and

- your considerations for successful transition and implementation.

Feedback on SSHRC’s renewed program architecture, including the draft calls for proposals and funding opportunities located at the link, may be submitted to PA-Project [at] sshrc-crsh.gc.ca by March 31, 2010.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact rupa.narasimhadevara [at] mcgill.ca (Rupa Narasimhadevara) if you have questions or concerns about SSHRC or their funding mechanisms.
