There is a phishing email circulating to users advising that they have exceeded their email account's storage capacity. The email asks users to click on a fraudulent link in order to expand their account's storage limit. See an example of this phishing message below.
A reset of resource account passwords is required before May 24th, 2017. For resource accounts that had their passwords changed on or after March 8th 2017, when the password reset was initiated, a reset is not required.
Update - May 11 at 10:57 am: The issues affecting uPrint have been resolved. You should now be able to print, copy and scan from uPrint machines.

Although you may be able to send jobs to uPrint machines, you will not be able to print, copy or scan using these machines. IT Services is investigating this issue. There is a phishing email circulating to users about an update to McGill's email services . The email asks users to click on a fraudulent link in order to verify their account information. See an example of this phishing message below.
Over the summer McGill IT Services will be clearing out old email accounts, which have not been moved to Office 365. Email addresses ending in “@staff.mcgill.ca” and “@elf.mcgill.ca” will be terminated effective September 15, 2017. These email addresses are currently redirecting mail to other email addresses, such as @mcgill.ca, Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc. Once the old email address is decommissioned, redirects from it will no longer work and senders will receive a notice of failed delivery.

The issue reported yesterday has been resolved. Users should now be able to login to Minerva with their username and password.

Users may experience errors when logging into Minerva with their username and password. An error screen may appear suggesting you are not authorized to access the system.
As of May 3, 2017, students who are members of the following groups will not be able to access the uPrint machines on campus with their McGill ID Card, or their McGill username and password:
- Exchange students
- Inter-University Transfer students
- Special and Visiting students in the School of Continuing Studies
- Special intensive English and French programs in the School of Continuing Studies

There is a phishing email circulating to McGill users, which tries to capitalize on our recent request for all users to reset their McGill Passwords. The email says "Your owa outlook Pass-word will expire...", and asks users to CLICK HERE, and enter their username and password to keep it active.

For the continual improvement to our IT security service, and to meet McGill’s evolving administrative and research security requirements, McGill IT Services will be upgrading the antivirus version available to LAN administrators to focus on improved threat protection. This increased security measure will enable the institutional version to leverage features already available in the home version provided to the McGill community.
