Serveur, Stockage/Analyse des Données

Au coeur du CIAN se trouve un serveur sur lequel les instrument d'acquisition se connectent directement. Les données stockées sur le serveur peuvent être analysée sur nos stations de travail avec toute une gamme de logiciels. Si vous préférez, l'analyse peut être effectuée à partir de n'importe quel ordinateur grâce à nos serveurs de licences.

L'administration de l'infrastructure informatique du CIAN est assurée par SunBioGen, sous la supervision du Dr. Guillaume Lesage.

Certains logiciels ne sont accessible qu'à partir des postes de travail du CIAN, d'autres sont accessibles de (presque) n'importe ou via un serveur de licences.

Protocol to Connect to the CIAN server

You must connect to the McGill network either on a wired connection or via VPN.

MAC Users

  1. cian [at] mcgill.ca (Contact CIAN) to get a username and a password
  2. In Finder, press Command + K
  3. Server address: perola.biol.mcgill.ca
  4. Type your username
  5. Type your password
  6. Press Enter
  7. Select CIANUSERS volume to mount
  8. Click OK

You are now connected to the CIAN SAN and can work on it as if it was an additional drive

PC Users

  1. cian [at] mcgill.ca (Contact CIAN) to get a username and a password
  2. In Start menu, click <Run>
  3. Server address: \\132.206.213.90
  4. Type your username
  5. Type your password
  6. Press Enter
  7. Select CIANUSERS volume to mount

You are now connected to the CIAN SAN and can work on it as if it was an additional drive
When you are done log off the computer to avoid other users to access your account/folder in CIANUSERS


Note to PC users: Depending on your computer configuration, you may have to use third party software such as WinSCP (freely available at http://winscp.net/) to connect to the server.
