STED

Abberior STED Super-Resolution Microscope

STimulated Emission Depletion (STED) microscopy is a recently developed technique to allow resolution below the diffraction limit of light at about 200nm. It works by selectively deactivating fluorophores, resulting in only a very small area of illumination at the focal point, which in turn enhances the resolution and allows the creation of super-resolution images.

The STED is not a core facility instrument, but belongs to the IQBI research initiative. It can be available upon personal request, for inquiries about access to the STED, visit our Contact Us page.

Usage Fees: $30/h instrument usage, $50/h training and/or tech support

Our STED has the following exciting features:

Resolution up to 50nm

Two STED excitiation lasers: 651nm and 640nm

STED depletion laser: 775nm

RESOLFT for live-cell imaging
