MCLL occupies a suite of well-equipped facilities on the McGill University campus, including an office, seminar rooms, a common room for relaxing and chatting with other members, and a small kitchen.
The Courrier newsletter has been published since MCLL’s inception in 1989. It is currently published three times a year and includes information on the MCLL activities, workshop reports, moderator profiles, book suggestions, and opinion articles.
The Bulletin email was inaugurated in 2016 to foster a sense of community and deliver the latest news on what MCLL members are up to. It is sent out monthly.
Rory O’Sullivan DVD Collection
The family of the late Rory O’Sullivan has generously donated his personal collection of opera and music DVDs for the pleasure and enjoyment of MCLL members.
Rory played an active role at MCLL. He moderated two study groups every term, served as President in 2005-06, and was chairman of the Curriculum Committee for four years.
His knowledge and passion for opera, coupled with his legendary Opera Study Groups, inspired huge numbers.
Just as with McGill library privileges, this DVD collection is available to full MCLL members only.
A catalogue of the 363 items in the Rory O’Sullivan Opera and Music DVD Collection is available for consultation in the MCLL Office, or in PDF format.
Members will have to fill out a copy of the DVD Borrowing Request Form to borrow DVDs from the collection. The completed form should be submitted in person to office staff or volunteers, who will be responsible for verifying the request.
