Biography

Hélène Guay holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Law from McGill University and a Master’s degree in Health Law from the University of Sherbrooke (1989). 

Guay has been a lawyer in private practice since 1988, representing clients in court related to compensation, integrity, privacy, protection and autonomy. She has partipated in National Assembly bills, and lead federal class action suits. 

In 1999, she began teaching in health law to healthcare professional and future lawyers. She has published major articles on topics related to access to care, genetic testing, and elder abuse, and also hosts a conference series for seniors associations.
