Jo Ann Levesque

The former Director of the Office of Research Opportunities (ORO), Dr. Jo Ann Levesque holds a B.S.W. from the Université de Montréal, a Diploma in International Development and Cooperation and a Master’s of Education from the University of Ottawa and a PhD in Instructional Technology from the Faculty of Education at the Université de Montréal.

Dr Levesque came to McGill in the Fall of 2002 from the Social Sciences and Research Council of Canada where she had been a Program Officer with several branches of SSHRC since 1998, including the Research and Dissemination Grants Program Division where she dealt with the Standard Research Grants Program, the Strategic Research Networks in Education and Training, the Major Collaborative Research Initiatives Program, and the Aid to Research and Transfer Journals Program. Most recently, she worked in the Collaborative Research Initiatives Program at the Initiative on the New Economy Secretariat. Previous to her time at SSHRC, Dr Levesque worked in the Department of Education at the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).
