10 random tips and tricks for life at McGill

  1. If you really need to speak to someone in the middle of the night, you can call Nightline.
  2. There are amazing academic success workshops available for students, from managing anxiety to overcoming procrastination.
  3. If you are worried about paying this month’s rent, ask for an appointment in Scholarships & Student Aid – they may be able to help.
  4. Yoga! Spinning! Zumba! Lots of classes are available in Athletics & Recreation.
  5. If you are a graduate student and having difficulty with your supervisor, you can reach out to the Ombudsperson or visit the Office of the Dean of Students.
  6. The Legal Information Clinic at McGill provides a free Commissioner of Oaths service to students.
  7. Our Principal is very busy, and you can get a sense of this from her schedule.
  8. If you are studying at the Library but forgot your MacBook charger, you can borrow one from a service desk!
  9. We are a VERY international university, with 30% of our students coming from more than 150 countries. And by citizenship, there are more international students from China than any other country.
