Addressing Sexual Violence and Rape Culture: Building inclusive strategies across campuses

Tuesday, April 9, 2019toThursday, April 11, 2019

Concordia University is hosting a free, three-day symposium about sexual violence and rape culture on university campuses. The symposium is an opportunity to reflect upon the work that has been done by various CEGEP, University, and community members in order to address gender-based violence, rape culture, and sexual violence across campuses. Examples of topics explored at the symposium include frameworks for evaluating sexual violence policy and strategies; arts-based initiatives: art as a vehicle for addressing and discussing sexual violence and rape culture; constructing inclusive curriculums that address sexual violence and rape culture; experiences of LGBTQ members of our communities.

PhD student and IMPACTS research assistant, Christopher Dietzel, is presenting his research in a session titled, "Rape Culture on Dating Apps: Examining Sexual Consent among Gay/Queer Men". Click here for the full schedule and to register for the symposium.

All activities are free, and all are welcome.
