The Status of Women Canada Advisory Committee

In Budget 2018, the Government of Canada committed $5.5 million over 5 years, starting in 2018-2019, for Status of Women Canada to work with stakeholders on the Advisory Committee towards developing the Framework to Prevent and Address Gender Based Violence at Post-Secondary Institutions. The Framework will contribute to consistent, comprehensive and sustainable approaches to preventing and addressing gender-based-violence at post-secondary institutions.

The Advisory Committee will provide advice and feedback on the development, consultation and implementation of the Framework. IMPACTS Partner, Dr. Karen Busby, who is a professor of law and the director of the Centre for Human Rights Research at the Faculty of Law, University of Manitoba sits on the Status of Women Canada Advisory Committee. 

The first in-person meeting will be held in Montreal on January 16 and 17, 2019. More information about the Advisory Committee and its members is available on the Government of Canada's website.
