Professor Shaheen Shariff, James McGill Professor and Director of iMPACTS, is invited to speak at a celebratory event for International Women's Day, hosted by the Baie-D'Urfé Citizens' Association.

This year's event will recognize women everywhere, their dreams and struggles, their resilience and achievements. The theme of the event — Woman, Life, Freedom — is inspired by Iranian women.

In addition to Professor Shariff, other invited speakers include Safia Amiry, PhD student and iMPACTS research assistant; Aram Alborzi, Canadian with Iranian roots and architect by training; and Baharan Baniahmadi, Iranian-Canadian actress and author. The event will include presentations, bilingual exchanges, roundtable discussions, and closing remarks.

More information about the event is available on this website.
