PhD Candidate Philips Ayeni Awarded FRQSC Doctoral Scholarship
iMPACTS research assistant and PhD candidate Philips Ayeni was awarded a Fonds de Recherche du Québec - Société et Culture (FRQSC) scholarship. The award, which comes from the government of Québec, will support him in carrying out his doctoral studies. Philips' research focuses on open access publications, and he aims to understand why open access uptake in the humanities, arts, and social sciences is lagging behind STEM fields. Hence, his research will investigate open the access scholarly communication practices of early-career researchers and mid-career researchers working in the humanities in Canada.
Philips is doing his PhD in the School of Information Studies at McGill University. To learn more about Philips' work, visit his website: philipsayeni.com
