Discovery Days in Dentistry

The exciting world of dentistry was on display for high school students during Discovery Days in Health Sciences on December 12th. The Faculty of Dentistry held two seminars during the day to help give students hands-on exposure to dentistry topics, and create interest and enthusiasm for a career in the field. Professors, graduate and undergraduate students from the faculty shared their experiences and expertise with 42 students from the Greater Montreal area and their teachers. The workshop “A hands-on activity for a better smile” gave students the opportunity to make a dental impression on a stone model and learn about the importance of uses of panoramic radiographs. Thank you to all of the volunteers that made the day a huge success for all of the high school students that participate. Volunteers included Sahar Zamani, Alicia Chisholm, Quynh-Anh Nguyen & Marise Saaman (DMD II students), Amélie Fournier (DMD III), Entisar Abdulkader, Mang Shin Ma, Basem Danish (Graduate students) and Linda Harrison, and to Marie-Claude Loignon from the Admissions Office for organising and overseeing the day.
