PhD student, Dr. Ashwaq Al-Hashedi, was awarded the Mitacs-Accelerate Internship for the project entitled “New toothpaste for managing dental health in adults and elderly patients”. Under the supervision of Dr. Faleh Tamimi and in partnership with the company Visionaturolab Inc., this project aims at developing and optimizing a new toothpaste targeting the oral health needs of the rapidly increasing adult and elderly segment of the population. The toothpaste will aim at specifically targeting the removal of dental calculus and the cleaning of dental implants.
