McGill well represented at IADR Annual Meeting

The International Association for Dental Research (IADR) held its Annual Meeting and Exhibition in San Francisco from March 22 – March 25. McGill was well represented by faculty members, post-docs, graduate students and undergraduate students.

Prof. Marc McKee was an invited speaker and gave a presentation entitled "Unlocking 

mineralization: Enzymatic processing of the mineralization inhibitors pyrophosphate and osteopontin". The following papers were presented: Towards Equitable Dental Care: Lessons From Humanitarian Migrants in Montreal, Dental Students Readiness to Treat the Underserved: A Scoping Review Morphometric Analysis of Ultrasound-treated Arthritic Mouse Model Mandibles, Snacks Intake and Dental Caries Increment: A Two-Year Longitudinal Study,Establishing a Novel Database for Head and Neck Cancers, Clasps Retention for Laser-Sintered Removable Partial Dentures (RPDs), Social Disadvantage and Systemic Inflammation: Working Synergistically in Periodontal Disease?, The Impact of Education Attainment on HPV-related Head-&-Neck Cancer Survival, Head and Neck Cancers May Aggregate Among Families, and Mechanical Properties of Bone Surrounding Osseointegrated MDIs and 

Standard Implants using Nanoindentation.

The IADR, is a non-profit organization with nearly 11,000 members worldwide. Its mission is: 

  • to advance research and increase knowledge for the improvement of oral health worldwide;
  • to support and represent the oral health research community; and
  • to facilitate the communication and application of research findings.
