Annual Run for Outreach

Calling all runners and walkers!

It's that time of year again to enjoy a wonderful day on Mont Royal to raise money for the McGill Dentistry Outreach Program.

New this year: 5km run (as well as the usual 10k run) and online payment for registration and pledges!

What: 5km Walk/5km Run/10 km Run

When: Sept 21, 2013, race starts at 11:00am, please arrive before hand to hand in pledge forms and get t-shirt

Where: The race starts from Sir George-Étienne Cartier monument on Avenue du Parc. It is the same course as last year. 

Who: The race is open to anybody so feel free to invite any friends or family that would be interested in supporting our cause

How: To register please go to our website runforoutreach.com, click on the registration tab in order to do online registration. For the first time this year we are able to accept online payment for registration as well as pledge money!

Registration deadline SEPT 13TH

Why: To raise money for McGill Dentistry's Outreach Program. The Dental Outreach program works with the Montréal community to provide free basic dental care to those who cannot access private dental care due to psychological disability or financial hardship. As Quebec’s only completely mobile dental clinic, dental chairs and lights, sterilization equipment and dental instruments are packed into a truck and transported around the city to provide free dental care to individuals living in poverty. McGill dental students, dentists, as well as many volunteers made it possible to hold a total of 14 mobile clinics last year on the island of Montreal. Four additional clinics were held at the Montreal General Hospital, where students were able to perform more elaborate procedures such as radiographic diagnosis as well as fillings, and tooth extractions.
