Dr. Paul Kavanagh (DDS ‘79), has been recognized by the Canadian Dental Association with the prestigious Distinguished Service Award. The award is given to dental professionals who demonstrate outstanding contributions to dentistry and committed service over the years.
After receiving his degree at McGill, Dr. Kavanagh taught periodontics at both McGill and l’Université de Montréal, and is a member of many professional associations, including the Canadian and American Academy of Periodontology. The CDA Distinguished Service is but one of many accolades that make Dr. Kavanagh an example to follow. For his sustained service and community leadership with Canadian Veterans, Dr. Kavanagh received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, the Royal Canadian Legion’s Certificate of Merit, and the Minister of Veterans Affairs Commendation.
The Faculty of Dentistry extends its most sincere congratulations to Dr. Kavanagh for his exemplary service and community leadership. The Canadian Dental Association will give the award during a special ceremony and luncheon honouring award recipients during the CDA Annual General Meeting on Friday, April 12, 2019.
