Genetic Lipoprotein Disorders and Cardiovascular disease: Diagnosis, Treatment and areas of uncertainty

At the end of the presentation, the audience will:

  1. Review the diagnosis, genetic basis and treatment of genetic lipoprotein disorders associated with cardiovascular disease.
  2. Explore areas of uncertainty in the usefulness of biomarkers, sex differences in treatment and overall cardiovascular risk
  3. Introduce novel therapeutics, especially monoclonal antibodies and RNA gene silencing strategies and their potential role in a cost-constrained medical system
