Laura Horowitz

Dr. Horowitz is a graduate of McGill’s MDCM program. She completed her Internal Medicine residency training at the University of Sherbrooke, her Nephrology Fellowship at McGill University, and a home dialysis fellowship with University of Toronto based at St Michael’s Hospital. Dr. Horowitz has also completed a Master’s of Patient safety and Healthcare Quality with John Hopkin’s Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Dr. Laura Horowitz joins the Division of Nephrology at the MUHC and is also appointed to the Cree Health Board and the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB) regions. As CoDirector of the Northern Renal Program, Dr. Horowitz is focused on ensuring patients receive equitable, safe, and optimal care within their communities. With additional training in insertion of peritoneal dialysis catheters and a passion for home dialysis, she hopes to expand the Cree home dialysis program, allowing more patients with end-stage kidney disease to remain home in their communities.
