Desautels students leverage their many strengths to make a difference
Collins Oghor, MD-MBA Student
Founder of the custom tailoring company, Maison Leporem, Collins Oghor is also an MD-MBA student who took on the challenge of discovering better tuberculosis testing.
While spending a summer in India, Collins worked on a quality assessment program to review the consistency and accuracy of tuberculosis testing conducted by labs affiliated with the Initiative for Promoting Affordable & Quality TB Tests (IPAQT). With his research experience in improving global access to tuberculosis diagnostics, Collins plans to return to his home in Nigeria after his studies to apply his training as a health care manager.
“The experience reinforced what I want to do over the long-term and helped me see where both of my degrees can meet”.
The MD-MBA at the Desautels Faculty of Management is a five-year interdisciplinary leading to the completion of the MBA core as well as the development of a strong background in healthcare management. The program seeks to train well-rounded physician managers who can eventually pursue careers in a wide range of healthcare areas. The program addresses directly the increasing demand for physicians with management skills and expertise in the healthcare sector.
