Involvement can shape your McGill experience

One of my favourite memories in the BCom program is from my second year in Don Melville's Not-for-Profit-Consulting program.

My group spent almost the whole year developing a solution for a Montreal NGO with our mentor from McKinsey & Co. At the end of the project, we presented our strategy to senior consultants at McKinsey's office in Montreal.

Additionally, a lot of my memories from the last four years stem from my extracurricular involvement. Most especially, I was able to represent our undergraduate student body as the MUS President over the last year.

Overall, the advice I would give my first-year self is not to be afraid of involvement. I remember being intimidated as a new student and shying away from extracurricular activities. Looking back, my biggest regret is not getting involved sooner. Involvement can shape your McGill experience, help you make lasting friendships, and is super important to building your CV.
