To nurture start-up ideas and early stage companies into real businesses by providing the opportunity for entrepreneurs to showcase and develop their ideas, with the chance to win seed funding and world-class mentorship.
What is the McGill Dobson Cup Start-UP Competition?
The McGill Dobson Cup enables budding entrepreneurs the opportunity to receive valuable advising and a chance to win start-up capital for their enterprise. Seasoned professionals provide feedback and mentorship to each team in order to help develop their ideas and successfully realize their goals.
How do I win?
Judging will focus on innovation, viability, and growth potential - as presented by the teams.
Who can compete?
At least one founder of the company must have a McGill affiliation, meaning enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, hold (or have held) a staff, faculty or postdoctoral position, or McGill alumni. If the sole McGill affiliation on a team is a McGill alumni, they must have graduated no later than January 2011.
Proposals submitted in 2015 were from ALL faculties at McGill, including: including Science, Law, Management, Music, Engineering, Medicine, Arts, Education, and Music.
