2017 Finalist for AMR Best Paper Award: Organizing Risk - Discourse, Power and ‘Riskification'

Professor Steve Maguire’s paper published in the Academy of Management Review, 41(1): 80 – 108 with co-author Cynthia Hardy was selected by the Best Paper Awards Committee for the prestigious distinction as one of the top three finalists for best papers published in AMR in 2016.

Ranked among the top five most influential and frequently cited management and business journals, AMR is a theory development journal that publishes the highest quality conceptual work being done in the field. Articles challenge conventional wisdom concerning all aspects of organizations and their role in society, and provides new theoretical insights.

AMR is on Desautels’ top journals list and in 2015 was ranked 1/120 in the Business category and 2/192 in the Management category by Clarivate Analytics (previously by ISI).

The award will be presented at the Academy of Management meeting in Atlanta Georgia on August 6, 2017
