Desautels students named in Poets and Quants’ MBAs to Watch

Published: 3 June 2020

Three graduating McGill students, Anastasia Budaeva, Ysa Cao and George Oriokot, have been named in Poets and Quants’  2020 MBAs To Watch list.

The three McGill students were among 142 students selected on the list, which focuses on distinctive, eclectic and “rarely conventional” students. According to Poets and Quants, individuals who make the MBAs to Watch list are “the students with the courage to bet on themselves”.

Anastasia, who is set to work at Amazon as Pathways Operations Manager following her graduation, credits a summer internship in South Africa with helping her grow professionally and personally by connecting with people committed to creating positive impact.

Now working as a consultant at Talsom, a Montreal-based tech consulting firm, Ysa served as president of the Desautels Graduate Women’s Association during her time at McGill. In this role, she set out to promote gender parity and inclusivity through the delivery of workshops on respectful cultures and design thinking.

George, who worked in operations at an internet travel startup before McGill, is proud of his work in the Canadian Black Professionals Network, which allowed him to see the breadth and depth of talent in and engage with the black community in Montreal.
