McGill professors create AI-powered tool to monitor supply and demand of essential goods
Desautels professors Maxime Cohen and Warut Khern-am-nuai are the brains behind a new technology that monitors the supply of essential goods at grocery stores. A joint venture with a team of scientists from HEC Montreal and a Canadian supermarket chain, the tool uses artificial intelligence to prevent shortages in an environment of uncertainty. According to Cohen, better inventory management during the pandemic will ensure a fairer distribution of goods.
